Liana Millu (b.Pisa, December 21, 1914 – February 6, 2005) was a Jewish-Italian journalist, resistance fighter and Holocaust survivor, best known for her autobiography "Smoke over Birkenau". ==Bio== Millu was raised by her grandparents, and has spent most of her life in Genoa. She worked as a journalist for ''il Telegrafo'' and schoolteacher and joined the Italian partisans in 1943. She was arrested in 1944 and deported to Auschwitz-Birkenau. After the war she returned to Italy became a book author.
